35 things lockdown has reminded/taught me
‘Lockdown’ and ‘unprecedented times’ are three words I won’t miss when all of this is over. Over the last few weeks, I learnt to look at life so differently. There’s been so many things I’ve hated about lockdown, but weirdly I’ve enjoyed a small part of it and have quite quickly fallen into this being our new ‘normal’.
Social distancing with a dog!
Being asked by the Government to ‘social distance’ is a first in many of our lifetimes. For most of us, cabin fever can quickly set in because our day-to-day lives revolve around routine.
Stix dog coats save the day!
I can’t tell you how long I have been searching for a dog coat which has a zip up the back. My search seemed to go on forever and a day and I was almost at the point of trying to make one myself because nothing I came across was quite right. Until I found Stix…
PitPat is a dog activity monitor. It enables you to track your dogs’ exercise, weight and fitness via their super user-friendly app with just a click of a button. We’ve been using it daily for several months now and I absolutely love it!
A real treat from Cynefin Retreats!
I booked a mini-break for Alex’s birthday and I just HAD to share this gem of a place with you. I stumbled across it when browsing Canopy & Stars one day and loved the look of the ‘luxe-pods’. We were not disappointed when we arrived on Friday night.

Living the dream thanks to Goboony
We couldn’t believe our luck when Goboony approached us to work with them. The job in hand? Experience the true van life with a dog. Were we up for it? HECK YES!
The National Pet Show 2019
We were super lucky to be invited to the National Pet Show this year and we had such a fun time. For those who don’t know what the National Pet Show is, it’s basically an event for all pet owners, lovers and families to enjoy.
The Flower Box, Cornwall – Midlands Canine Critic Review
Since having Woody we don’t feel the need to travel abroad (unless he can come with us) because having him with us as a trio is what makes our adventures so special. That’s why we’ve really started exploring the UK more.
Bottom Sniffer Review – A beer for dogs!
Is there anything better than tucking into a nice cold beer after a good ol’ hike? I think not. Especially when you get a beer gifted as part of the winners hamper for winning Midlands Canine Critic, it makes it taste that much sweeter.
Elbow dysplasia 1 – Woody 2
I vowed to use our blog and social channels to be transparent and to highlight our ups and downs so I would be a hypocrite if I just used them to shout about the absolutely insane things that have happened this past year but not the bad days too.
Midlands Canine Critic
I couldn’t not blog about Woody winning the Canine Critics: top dog for the Midlands. It’s a competition which seemed totally out of our reach but yet one we had to apply for.
This year, we headed back to the ultimate summer festival for dogs, also known as DogFest!
Our Scottish adventures
We’ve recently got home from our first road trip. We spent 11 days in Scotland, drove 1,282 miles in 33 hours, stopped in 6 different Airbnb’s, explored 2 cities and got lost in hundreds of mountains.
Taylor The Trailer Swift
I get it, its not a VW camper. BUT it’s ours and it’s going to be amazing. As much as I love them, VW’s are a little out of our price range so we have started small in the hopes of one day MAYBE getting our own VW van (maybe).
This year, we were invited by The Kennel Club to attend Crufts (someone pinch me!) Crufts is the world’s greatest dog show which took place from 7th – 10th March at The NEC in Birmingham.
Yesterday we came across a Reddit post which broke my heart but it’s one that I MUST share. Emma Mertens is a 7-year-old girl from Wisconsin and is currently fighting a very rare and inoperable brain tumor called DIPG. To comfort her she’s asking for letters from dogs.
Winner winner chicken dinner: Paws & Presto dog drying bag – review
We were the recent winners of the Paws & Presto large dog drying bag competition which they held over on their Instagram. It’s been nearly a month since we received our goods so I thought it was about time I gushed about the love we have for this product!
A bed fit for a king…
Last year we invested in the best dog bed ever. It’s that good, it makes us humans totally jealous!

365 days of being a dog mom
It’s been just over 365 days since I became a dog mom. People say that the first year is the hardest, that you’re never really prepared for it no matter how many books you read…

Woody recently starred in his first ever shoot for The Kennel Club which was a promotional video for Discover Dogs which took place last weekend.

Elliott’s Triangles – Bandana Review
If you know Woody, then you will know that he has an impressive bandana and bow tie collection. In fact, Woody’s style started from just 5 weeks old…
We know the only reason you came to our blog was for Woody. So that’s why I think it’s only fitting to tell you a little bit more about him.
Elbow dysplasia 0 – Woody 1
Before we got Woody, we researched into Golden Retrievers and knew that dysplasia was quite common within the breed (well within any large breed of dogs actually) but never did we think we would receive the devastating news when Woods was just 8 months old.
